It is no doubt that Liverpool is one of the most successful English club having 18 league titles an 5 European champions. But that is the part of great history, if we look at the present status of Liverpool then it is really hard to believe that Liverpool are in this poor stage. Last week, game-week 4 was over and from those four games Liverpool have managed only 2 points out of possible 12 points. Also, Liverpool has yet to pick up victory under Brendan Rogers in Premier league. Their might be several reason which have made Liverpool this poor. Here, we have listed some possible things that Liverpool are lacking this season.
- Striking force: It was really a strange transfer move by Liverpool because they sold most of their strikers including Bellamy, Kuyt and Carroll also but they were unsuccessful to bring even a single striker in this transfer window leaving Samid Yesil who is just 18 years old. Now they have only Suarez and Borini as striker. If Suarez gets ban or injured then the things will even get worst than it was. Borini has yet to score a goal in the Premier league. I think playing Borini in the wide areas is not a good idea as he is a central forward. This might be the reason that Borini has yet to score a goal. It will be more better if the place of Suarez and Borini get changed. Suarez dribbles the ball nicely and run towards the post but certainly their is no time for Suarez to charge the ball after he shows some excellent skills in the 6 yard box. So, if Suarez plays to the wide areas then he can show his skills well and may pass the ball to the opponent's D-Box where Borini may get the final touch and he can score the goal.
- Goal Keeping: It is a known fact to all football fans that Reina is one of the fine keeper in the world. In past seasons he use to save the most dangerous ball also but in recent league he is quite lacking his form. In four games this season Reina have conceded 8 goals which is the worst stats. This season Reina has made 2 terrible mistakes overall against Hearts and Arsenal. It seems like Liverpool must have to begin the search for the good back up keeper.
- Mid-field: In the mid-filed are of Liverpool, it is quite good but recently Liverpool's skipper Gerrard is lacking his form which is not a good thing for Liverpool. Liverpool new signing Allen has been excellent since he get involved in Liverpool fixtures but it would have been more better if Gerrard was also in his top form. Liverpool loan purchase Sahin has only played once in Liverpool shirt where he didn't play the impressive game. One of the unlucky mid-fielder is Downing who has 0 goals and 0 assist for Liverpool in the Premier league. It seems that Liverpool need to buy a quality attacking mid-fielder who can supply the ball well in the 6 yard box.
Recently, rumor are linking Torres with a shock Anfield return which is very unlikely. We will know that in the January transfer window.
